Sailing by Negro River

Day 1: Acajatuba Lake - Ariaú River - Anavilhanas

Wednesday, at 10 am at Marina do Davi (near the Tropical Hotel), a car or speedboat will take you to Açutuba Beach, where the boat will be waiting to begin our excursion towards Acajatuba Lake.

Depending on the water level, it is possible to bathe on the beach or in a small houseboat and, if you wish (optional activity), we can visit the pink dolphin and even swim with this amazing species that lives free by the rivers of the Amazon. Then we will go to Ariaú River, where the film Anaconda was recorded, a natural habitat for wild animals such as birds and monkeys, and ancestral trees such as giant Samaúma.

Our next destination is the National Park of the Anavilhanas Archipelago. Area of 350,000 hectares with more than 650 groups of islands. Tourists are surprised by the unique beauty of this place. Moreover, the trip becomes very comfortable due to the absence of mosquitoes, which do not proliferate in the acid and dark waters of these rivers. At night, you can go out to focus alligators and admire the sky constellations of the southern hemisphere.

Canoeing

Day 2: Tucumã Lake - Mucuras River

Let's start the day with a walk in the forest, near Lake Tucumã, to observe the flora and fauna of the Negro River region. In the course of the trail, we will arrive at a stream with a small waterfall. A charming place where you can take a bath and cool off in those delicious waters. At the end, we will return to the boat and head towards the Mucuras River.

Depending on the water level, it is possible to stop and bathe on the white sandy beaches that appear in the dry season in the Anavilhanas archipelago. Arriving in the Mucuras River, we will do a canoe trip, to observe the fauna and flora of the magical igapó. This immense igapó (flooded forest), unites the basins of the Mucuras and Cuieras River. The place is little frequented, being the scene of some local legends and also the habitat of the feared electric eel.

Let us observe wild animals from land and air, like some very beautiful birds, toucans and macaws. At night, we can continue the canoe trip to hear the sounds of nature.

White Sand Beaches

Day 3: Mucuras River - Manaus

Early morning to contemplate the sunrise. The experience of seeing the day brightening, within the Amazon forests, is a unique sensation of peace.

We will start the navigation back to Manaus. Depending on the level of the water, we can make a stop to take a bath on some beach or in the Arara waterfall.

Departure: on Wednesdays, at 10 a.m. at the Marina do Davi
Arrival: Friday, around 1 p.m.

Note: all routes are subject to change according to weather conditions, environment and Nature's overall aspect. Animals are wild and many places visited on our expeditions are not frequented by tourists, so we do not guarantee that all experiences will be the same. During the travel there is no cell phone signal nor Internet connection, which liberates us from distractions and allows us to live the present moment with more intensity, a key factor to connect with Mother Nature.
